The Stories Don’t Disappear, They Make Us Stronger
Mientras la administración actual en EE. UU. refuerza políticas migratorias que presentan a los inmigrantes como una amenaza, se anuncian planes para llevar a cabo la operación de deportación interna más grande de la historia del país, incluso considerando el uso de recursos militares para hacer cumplir estas leyes. Esta narrativa criminaliza a comunidades enteras y perpetúa estereotipos dañinos—cuando en realidad la narrativa que vivimos es otra: papás, tías, jóvenes, trabajadores, albañiles, agricultores, estudiantes, profesoras. Gente que ICE se lleva, y que luego desaparece de las fincas, del equipo de fútbol, del grupo de construcción, de las aulas del colegio, de las cafeterías, los parques, y los buses. Pero sus historias no desaparecen. Quedan en quienes les conocieron, trabajaron a su lado, aprendieron de ellxs. Y esas historias, lejos de debilitarnos, nos fortalecen. Este proyecto convoca a testigxs e impactadxs—madres, compas, coworkers, profesoras, organizadores, autores, reporteros, influencers—para compartir sus historias y honrar a quienes han sido criminalizado, golpeado, y hasta desaparecido —a través del arte: dibujo, pintura, costura, fotografía, IA o cualquier medio visual que dé voz. Todas las contribuciones se integrarán en una obra única, con capas de audio y video, grabadas por la comunidad. Queremos visibilizar lo que ICE intenta silenciar, reescribir la narrativa con humanidad y resistencia, y construir una memoria colectiva que dignifique, conecte y empodere. Porque esas historias no desaparecen… nos fortalecen.
As the current U.S. administration strengthens immigration policies that frame immigrants as a threat, plans are being announced to carry out the largest internal deportation operation in the country’s history—even considering the use of military resources to enforce these laws. This narrative criminalizes entire communities and perpetuates harmful stereotypes—when in reality, the story we live is a different one: parents, aunts, young people, workers, construction laborers, farmworkers, students, and teachers. People who ICE takes away, who then disappear from farms, soccer teams, construction crews, classrooms, cafeterias, parks, and buses.But their stories do not disappear. They remain with those who knew them, worked beside them, learned from them. And those stories—far from weakening us—make us stronger. This project calls on witnesses and those impacted—mothers, comrades, coworkers, teachers, organizers, authors, journalists, influencers—to share these stories and honor those who have been criminalized, harmed, or disappeared through art: drawing, painting, sewing, photography, AI, or any visual medium that gives voice. All contributions will be woven into a single collective artwork, layered with audio and video, recorded by the community. We aim to make visible what ICE tries to silence, to rewrite the narrative with humanity and resistance, and to build a collective memory that dignifies, connects, and empowers. Because these stories don’t disappear… they make us stronger.

Estamos invitando a facilitadores, organizadores comunitarios, trabajadores de primera línea y escritores a participar en el diseño de las preguntas que guiarán las narrativas visuales de los participantes.
Este sera por medio de un formulario que puedes completar en tu propio horario.
JULY. We are inviting facilitators, community organizers, frontline workers, and writers to help design the questions that will guide participants’ visual narratives. Participation will take place through a form you can complete on your own schedule.

Dibujamos una historia
Step 2: We Draw a Story
AGOSTO - SEPTIEMBRE
Recibiremos obras visuales (en cualquier formato) con su significado en texto, audio o video. Todas se integrarán en una sola obra digital colectiva. Invitaremos a cada participante a registrar su contribucion digitalmente como coaurtoria. con opcion de recibir una parte quitativa si la obra genera ingresos.
AUGUST-SEPTEMBER. We will be collecting visual artworks in any format, accompanied by their meaning in text, audio, or video. All contributions will be integrated into a single collective digital artwork. Each participant will be invited to register their contribution as digital co-authorship, with the option to receive an equitable share if the piece generates income.

Generamos un impacto

OCTUBRE - 2026
La obra final, en formato impreso o digital, podrá ser exhibida en espacios diversos por todo el país—galerías, bibliotecas, centros comunitarios, escuelas, cafés, oficinas, eventos culturales o cualquier lugar con acceso a una pared o pantalla. Cada imagen estará conectada a textos, audios y videos que relatan las historias.
OCTOBER – 2026. The final piece, in printed or digital format, will be exhibited in a variety of spaces across the country—galleries, libraries, community centers, schools, cafés, offices, cultural events, or any place with access to a wall or screen. Each image will be connected to texts, audio, and videos that tell the stories behind each contribution, making visible what must not be forgotten.
